Creating a soft landing for Humpty Dumpty at the Oamaru Gardens.
In 2021, the local Oamaru Gardens playground underwent an upgrade around the well-loved Humpty Dumpty feature. This prompted the recreational team to look at making some updates to the surfacing surrounding the structure after which, they contacted the NumatREC team who were involved with the original safety surfacing that was installed 20 years ago.
As one of the first NumatREC surfacing projects, Humpty-Dumpty holds a special place in Numat’s company history, so it was only right that our team got in there to resurface the space.
The installation was a sponsored project featuring a new Corkeen surface, the first installation of the new 100% cork play surface in New Zealand.

Youngs Park Playground
When Numat installed playground surfacing at Auckland’s Youngs Park playground it was a slightly different project to most. That was because of the product they were installing – MulchSet. Like Pour’n’Play, MulchSet is a dual-layer, wet pour rubber surface, but instead of a granule top, it has the appearance of wood chip.
