We know that one of the most important aspects of installing a playground surface is safety. But also know that concerns don’t just stop with our physical safety.
They might also include the safety of our environment and the health and safety of those who come into contact with the product. In this today’s post, we’re going to look into both the environmental safety and the health and safety traits of our wet pour rubber surface, Pour’n’Play.
Let’s get into these.
Environmental Safety
Our wet pour rubber surface Pour’n’Play uses a rubber granule called Rosehill TPV. These rubber granules are non-toxic and don’t contain any harmful materials like nitrate, sulphur compounds or heavy metals that might hurt the environment or native life. The rubber goes through a vulcanization process that makes sure the granules continue to perform in all weather conditions without compromising their stability.
Because of this vulcanization process, the rubber doesn’t leach any pollutants that could otherwise be hazardous to the environment. Making this wet pour rubber surface the perfect option for outdoor spaces.
Physical Health + Safety
We’ve discussed that the Rosehill TPV rubber used in Pour’n’Play is non-toxic, but another feature is that it is non-allergenic, meaning it’s completely safe to the touch and safe for all to use.
One thing you might want to note here though is that rubber surfaces, like other play surfaces, do get hot under the sun and might not be the most comfortable to walk on during very sunny days, so we recommend considering shading options where possible. Whether that shading is natural shade from trees or through installing shade sails, making sure there is something there is important if you think hot surfaces might become an issue, just to be on the safe side.
